CSCS Card Types
Trainee
This card is for trainee’s who are registered for an NVQ/SVQ Level 1 (or Construction Award). You are required to have passed the Health, Safety & Environment Test for this card.
Graduate
This card is for graduates of a nationally recognised construction-related qualification. You will be required to complete and pass the Managerial and Professional(MAP) Health, Safety & Environment Test for this card.
Experienced Technician, Supervisor or Manager
This card is for Supervisors and Managers with on the job experience, are currently studying an NVQ/SVQ. You are required to have passed the Health, Safety & Environment Test for this card.
Experienced Worker
This card is valid for one year and proves that you have on the job experience. You are required to have passed the Health, Safety & Environment Test for this card.
Labourer
This card is for workers with basic site skills (e.g. Labourers), and have a NVQ Level 1 or an employer’s recommendation of competence. You are required to have passed the Health, Safety & Environment Test for this card. Shannon Training offer a 1 Day CITB Health and Safety Awareness course on site for those hoping to attain this card at a later date.
Skilled Worker
This card is for achievers of NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or have completed an apprenticeship which includes a City and Guilds Craft Certificate. You are required to have passed the Health, Safety & Environment Test for this card.
Supervisor
The Gold card is if you have completed an apprenticeship which includes a City and Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate, passed an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or have completed an indentured apprenticeship. You are required to have passed the Supervisor’s Health, Safety & Environment Test for this card.
Manager
The black card is for manager occupations and an achievement of an NVQ or SVQ level 4 or 5 in a relevant occupation. You will be required to complete and pass the Managerial and Professional(MAP) Health, Safety & Environment Test for this card.
Professionally Qualified Person
The white/yellow Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) card is for competency assessed members of CSCS approved Professional Bodies, such as ICE, CIOB, RICS. You will be required to complete and pass the Managerial and Professional(MAP) Health, Safety & Environment Test for this card.
Construction Related Occupation (CRO)
This card covers construction related occupations not covered by the other categories of card and shows the holder’s occupation. You are required to have passed the Health, Safety & Environment Test for this card.
Regular Visitor
The yellow Regular Visitor Card is for people who frequently visit a construction site, but have no construction specific skill. You are required to have passed the Health, Safety & Environment Test for this card.
