CPC Courses & Assessments

Foundation courses are designed for Novice workers, or those with a limited amount of experience. Assessments are available for experienced workers (a minimum of 2 years experience is required for assessment courses).

New regulations since September 2009 require 7 hour modules to be completed every year, for a 5 year period (35 hours required over a 5 year period).

The Driver CPC is for LGV and PCV drivers who drive professionally throughout the UK. It has been developed as a requirement of the EU Directive 2003/59, which is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of professional LGV and PCV drivers throughout their working life. There are two parts to the legislation:

Firstly, the initial qualification must be achieved by new LGV and PCV drivers along with their vocational licence to enable them to use their licence professionally.

Secondly, 35 periodic hours of training every 5 years must be attended by all professional drivers.

The Driver CPC is for LGV (C1, C1+E, C, C+E licence) and PCV drivers (D1, D1+E, D, D+E licence) who drive professionally throughout the UK, unless they qualify for an exemption.
